International Workers’ Day

International Workers’ Day, also known as International Labor Day, International Workers’ Day or May Day, is a national holiday celebrated in more than 80 countries around the world. It is celebrated on May 1 every year. It is a holiday shared by working people all over the world.

In July 1889, the Second International Congress, led by Engels, was held in Paris. The conference adopted a resolution stipulating that the international workers’ parade would be held on May 1, 1890, and decided to designate May 1 as International Labor Day. The State Council of the Central People’s Government made a decision in December 1949 to designate May 1 as Labor Day, and after 1989, the State Council basically honored model workers and advanced workers nationwide once every five years, with about 3,000 people being honored each time.

On October 25, 2021, the “Notice of the General Office of the State Council on the Arrangement of Some Holidays in 2022″ was issued, and the holiday will be held from April 30 to May 4, 2022, for a total of 5 days. April 24 (Sunday) and May 7 (Saturday) will be worked.
